Lincoln Cars of the 1940s and The Lincoln Town Car

Dearborn’s original ‘49 planning called for a 118-inch-wheelbase Ford and a 121-inch Mercury. What emerged as the Cosmopolitan was conceived as a Zephyr. At the last minute, Ford’s policy committee, led by Ernest Breech and Harold Youngren, mandated a smaller 114-inch-wheelbase Ford, so the proposed Mercury became the ‘49 standard Lincoln and the 118-inch Ford was made a Mercury — hence the latter’s change from “senior Ford” to “junior Lincoln” in this period. The ex-Mercury Lincolns were thus much cheaper than the Cosmos, spanning a $2500-$3100 range versus $3200-$3950.

Predictably, given its wartime design exercises, Lincoln Town Car Air Suspension ‘49 styling was of the “bar-of-soap” school, but clean and dignified nonetheless. Fadeaway front fenderlines marked base models. Cosmos had fully flush fenders, plus one-piece (instead of two-piece) windshields, broad chrome gravel deflectors over the front wheel arches, Airbags and thin window frames. All models wore conservative grilles, sunken headlamps (glass covers were planned), and “frenched” taillamps. Model-year volume set a record at 73,507 units.

Lincoln’s first new postwar generation continued for the next two years with no major alteration. Offerings, however, were shuffled for 1950, as the standard convertible and the tubby Cosmo Town Sedan were deleted. This left a notchback coupe and a four-door sport sedan (with throwback “suicide” rear doors) in each series, coil springs plus a Cosmopolitan convertible. There were also two newcomers for 1950: the $2721 Lido and $3406 Cosmo Capri. These were limited-edition coupes with custom interiors and padded canvas tops offered in lieu of a true pillarless hardtop to answer Cadillac’s 1949 Coupe de Ville. Few were sold through 1951.

All 1950 Lincolns sported a restyled dashboard by chief designer Tom Hibbard. It was an attractive “rolled-top” design with an oblong instrument cluster, a format that would continue through 1957. A self-shifting Hydra-Matic transmission, bought from archrival GM, arrived as a new 1950 option; it would be standard in 1952-54. The ‘51 models were spruced up by longer rear fenders with upright taillamps (versus the previous round units), plus a simpler grille and different wheel covers.

Do you want to learn how to draw online

If you have decided to learn how to draw online, then you are giving yourself a range of options. It is surprising just how advanced an online drawing course can be, and with video connections, downloadable files and images, you have the ability to create a virtual classroom within your computer room. The best part about studying online is the flexibility it offers. You can really free yourself up from scheduling constraints.

The best part of choosing to take drawing lessons online is that you can save so much time. Taking art classes at a school or at your community center requires you to get down to that particular location. It could be a ten minute drive, or it could be an hour by bus. Even if it is not so far away, it still requires you to block off that time in your schedule, which may prevent you from doing other things. If you learn to draw online, then you have far more flexibility with when you will take your lessons.

If you decide to learn how to draw online you can take advantage of a wide range of different drawing lessons. You are not restricted to whatever is available in your city, as you can choose from lessons being offered halfway around the world. If you have always wanted to learn to draw cartoons, then there are classes available to teach you how. Or, if drawing landscapes is more your interest, then again, you will be able to narrow your search to get what you want, wherever you happen to live.

Finally, you usually can’t beat the cost of online drawing lessons. In addition to saving money on any transportation costs that you might incur if you study at a school, online courses tend to be cheaper than their traditional counterparts anyway. If you don’t want to spend money on this kind of hobby at all, the internet offers a whole range of different ways to learn. You can download free tutorials, and copy different images that have been posted by artists for free.

As you can see, learning how to draw online really widens the pool of what you are able to study, regardless of your skill level. Technology has advanced to the point where receiving quality instruction from people that live miles and miles away is an easy possibility. If you’re able to still take lessons in your town, great. But the far greater convenience lies in taking lessons online.

Some AdSense Alternatives To Consider

Many people have started using Google’s AdSense program, but there are some who find it a bit too uncertain or simply not suiting their own requirements from an ad program.

But thankfully for such people, there are many alternatives to AdSense which attempt to alleviate some of its shortcomings. Here is a list of the most noteworthy ones from the lot with a description concerning each one.

AllFeeds has a great pool of online advertisers to choose from. It also features many display formats that you can choose from. These include banners, buttons, XML feeds, DHTML pop-ups and so on. It also features real time reporting of your ad status. The site will mail a check every month, provided that you earn more then $25.00, while rolling over earnings for the next month if you don’t. Another interesting thing about AllFeeds is that it integrates with Google AdSense, maximizing your earnings with AdSense.

MarketBanker allows you the unique possiblity to set the pricing for your site. It also allows you to allow or reject any link that appears on your site (although AdSense itself does a very good job of this as well, with URL filters) There’s also a statistics section which will allow you to see how well your site is doing. The ads are small just like AdSense’s and they’re just as easy to set up. Also, registration for MarketBanker is free.

BidClix is different because it has advertisers compete for clicks on your site, which in turn is meant to generate the highest possible profits for your page. It also has a very large pool of advertisers which ensure there are plenty of people to choose your site. However, it does require more polish on site contents then AdSense. As most sites, real time statistics are available and its very easy to get started with this service, but it’s also very flexible.

RealContext uses Artificial intelligence to retrieve the most relevant ads for your page. And there’s an extra feature which makes RealContext unique as well. Keywords are selected based upon which previous selections payed off and which didn’t. That means there’s a constant feedback process that ensures you gain better revenue from your ads. It also supports blocking certain adds and child-safe filtering and many more options.

AdHearus is a very feature-packed contextual ad provider. As with AdSense, advertisements are targeted but it doesn’t stop here at all. The ads are very flexible, you can select from text-ads, banners, rectangles, pop-ups, pop-unders or skyscrapers. You can also display your own ads, through rotation, both on your site and on other affiliate sites, which makes AdHearus a hybrid with conventional advertising technologies. There’s a very comprehensive on-line real time reporting feature and, as usual with such services, starting out is free and it’s a breeze.

AffiliateSensor has highly customizable ad blocks, which you can make for yourself with an easy to use on-line interface. You also get realtime reporting with clicks-by-domain, page and refferer. There’s integration with Google AdSense as well, through the google_alternate_ad_url so AffiliateSensor can be used as a substitute for Google PSA’s (Public Service Ads).

Kanoodle’s offering allows publishers to get ads related to topics or segments, and not the traditional keyword oriented ads. The site also groups publisher sites with advertisers by hand to ensure high-revenue generating ads. And speaking of revenue, the amount of money you receive is a clear 50% share of the amount of money Kanoodle recieves for an advertiser.

TargetPoint is oriented more towards content publishers. It offers full control over the look the ads, statistics over your site’s overall performance and better revenue. It’s free to register and you earn a guaranteed 60% of the total revenue. You can get payed with Paypal of Bank checks and (most times) wire transfers as well.

Clicksor will earn you as much as 60% from the amount of money your website produces. What you get is about the same as AdSense, there are targeted text ads, you can view the revenues from your website in real time. You can receive money via PayPal or through a check every two weeks, provided that you have earned more then $50. If you haven’t made that much, your earning roll over to the next period.

Foods That Reduce High Blood Pressure

Protein is one of the foods that reduce high blood pressure without high blood pressure medication side effects. A diet with greater protein lowers blood pressure more than a diet high in carbohydrates.

Replacing Some Carbohydrates with Protein and Unsaturated Fat May Enhance Heart Health Benefits: The types of food eaten in an effort to cut down on saturated fat may make a difference in reducing heart disease risk, according to a study of people with either high blood pressure or prehypertension.

The study was supported by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), a part of the National Institutes of Health.

Investigators evaluated three diets that follow the principles of NHLBI’s DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) eating plan with some modifications. One diet emphasized carbohydrates, another diet emphasized protein, and the third emphasized monounsaturated fat.

They reported that while all three diets reduced high blood pressure, improved cholesterol levels, and reduced ten-year risk of heart disease by as much as 16 to 21 percent, two of these modified diets were even more effective in reducing some risk factors and estimated risk for heart disease than the diet richer in carbohydrates.

The Optimal Macronutrient Intake Trial to Prevent Heart Disease (OmniHeart) study will be presented today in Dallas at the American Heart Association annual conference, and also published in the November 15 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.

These new OmniHeart study results do not represent new guidelines for healthy eating and the proportions of carbohydrate, protein, and fat for all three diets are all within the ranges recommended by the U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans and other national public health organizations. Earlier in 2005, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services incorporated NHLBI’s DASH eating plan as one option within the U.S. Dietary Guidelines.

All of the studied diets are a vast improvement over the typical American diet which can be high in saturated fat and low in essential nutrients, according to NHLBI Director Elizabeth G. Nabel, M.D. “This study builds on an established body of evidence that shows following a dietary pattern lower in saturated fat, such as the DASH eating plan, can go a long way toward improving overall heart health.

With these new data, we have been able to incorporate even more flexibility into the DASH eating plan by providing additional options for people seeking to improve their heart health through healthier eating,” said Nabel. The study results reinforce the health benefits of following a DASH-type eating plan and suggests that tweaking certain components within that plan—protein and unsaturated fat—may yield benefits for specific risk factors.

Compared with the study diet containing more carbohydrates, the diet with greater protein:

• lowered blood pressure, LDL “bad” cholesterol, and triglycerides, and

• lowered HDL “good” cholesterol. The diet with more unsaturated fat, primarily monounsaturated fat:

• lowered blood pressure and triglycerides,

• raised HDL, and

• did not lower LDL.

By providing all daily meals to 164 men and women for 41 days for each diet, researchers evaluated the three diets to determine whether replacing calories from saturated fat with calories from protein or unsaturated fat was better than replacing those calories with carbohydrate. Saturated fat is known to raise blood cholesterol, and public health officials recommend that it make up less than 10 percent of daily calories for healthy individuals and less than 7 percent of daily calories for individuals with heart disease risk factors.

Participants were age 30 or older and had either high blood pressure or prehypertension at the time of enrollment. “These new findings open the door to further research on the diets’ long-term effects and the ability of people to follow these diets,” said Eva Obarzanek, Ph.D., NHLBI research nutritionist and study co-author.

The OmniHeart study diets differed from each other in several ways:

• The diet emphasizing carbohydrates contained 58 percent of calories from carbohydrates and 15 percent of calories from protein. In addition, it contained 21 percent of calories from unsaturated fat. The other two diets reduced carbohydrate to 48 percent of calories.

• The diet emphasizing protein increased the protein to 25 percent of calories. To increase protein, mostly plant sources, such as beans and nuts, were used, although poultry, egg substitutes, and fat-free or low-fat milk products were also used. Like the carbohydrate diet, it contained 21 percent of calories from unsaturated fat.

• The diet emphasizing unsaturated fat used primarily fats and oils rich in monounsaturated fat, like olive oil, to increase unsaturated fat to 31 percent of calories.Like the carbohydrate diet, it contained 15 percent of calories from protein.

“Our results emphasize the impact that diet can have on blood pressure and cholesterol levels, two of the major heart disease risk factors,” said Lawrence Appel, M.D., M.P.H., of Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and lead investigator of the OmniHeart study. The OmniHeart study did not address other types of diets such as the Atkins or Mediterranean diet. The OmniHeart study was conducted at Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

The first participants started the protocol in 2003, and the last participants ended the study in June 2005. NHLBI has long recommended changes in lifestyle, including following a heart healthy eating plan to reduce risk factors for heart disease. The DASH eating plan was developed through a series of clinical studies that showed that a dietary pattern rich in fruits, vegetables, fat-free or low-fat milk and milk products, and whole grains substantially reduced blood pressure and had other beneficial effects.

The eating plan also includes lean meats, poultry, fish, legumes, and nuts and is low in saturated fats, cholesterol, sodium, and sweets and added sugars. The new DASH Eating Plan menus are included in the book A Healthier You published by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. This newly released book is based on the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans.

Top Band The Vouch

Just recently I was trawling through my own personal myspace page, which incidentally I don’t use that often. I noticed that I had a few new friend requests. On inspection there where the few obvious spammers and a few actual people, but, there was one particular bands music profile which stuck out! That band where called The Vouch. I thought at first, what a cool name, so I accepted the add. Apparantly they are the best band in the world? The Vouch… A few weeks passed and I began using myspace page a little more, to stay in touch with friends. I then began noticing I was getting harassed with messages, constant bulletins and quite frankly it was bothering me. I made the decision that I was going to block them from my friends list.

So I proceeded to click on there profile for the first time, a moment I wont, forget may I add. A huge sound passed through my small pc speakers and monitor. A soft broken melodic voice and piercing lead guitar followed. With nothing short of breath taking drumming! I couldn’t believe I had ignored this for so long! I was robbing myself of a brilliant experience! The tracks on the page where comparative to those of a certain Mr Lennon and McCartney and a Mr Davies.

Very raw very British and very catchy. Now I must say that I have removed myself from the current music scene, as quite frankly it is tripe! I spend my time listening to the Beatles, the Kinks, the Stones and any bands which have really stood the test of time! So I was quite taken a back by the ability of a small town unsigned band! So I did a little more digging, compared them to other local unsigned acts, nothing came close! This is why I urge you to listen to The Vouch. They are a 5 piece from extremely humble beginnings. They originate from Cannock which believe me is a place best wiped off the map, voted 5th worst place to live in the country!

Its a former mining town, and with no intention of offending people there, it has become a breeding ground for zombies born and breed to work underground. There music is often dreamy mixing facts with fiction to create a real experience, when listening! After really getting into the bands recordings I decided to make the journey to one of there live shows. They appear regularly at the Rock Cafe Cannock but this was not really a venue I wanted to visit. So on closer inspection of their gig guide I found a gig at the dirty south club London, the band had arranged coach travel. So I decided to get in touch and get down there. They where due to support a dj set from former oasis guitarist ‘Bonehead’, so I thought it would be a good night. The Day Of The Gig The coach arrived at 4 o’clock on a Saturday to pick us up from the dreaded ‘Cannock bus station’. I hoped on to find it full of drunken teenagers and thought what am I doing. I sat at the front alone for around an hour, before a chubby young lad introduced himself to me. He walked to the front of the coach, carling cans in hand one of which he passed to me, and said “Ort, I’m Beaver.” The trip on the coach took around 4 hours and was extremely wild, not for the faint hearted.

I felt really sorry for the coach driver!  I wanted to see if they really were the best band in the world, i think they certainly were the best band in cannock! We arrived in London at around 8.30pm local time and went into the venue. I was very surprised to see the band just instantly mingle with there friends and fans and drinks where exchanged immediately. Time slid by as I spent most of the time with my new acquaintances ,’Beaver’ , watching the other support acts. Several pints of Guiness later and toilet breaks, the band arrived on stage. With the front man and bass player tuning in to the dirty pretty things anthem ‘Bang Bang You’re Dead’. They immediately threw there instruments to the floor and jumped into the growing crowd to dance and……. well……… go metal really. Was this a ploy to create mayhem I’m unsure, but it did work! They took to the stage in a venue, that you wouldn’t imagine would have much of an atmosphere……. but they seemed to create there own. Track after track of exhilarating music, the crowd loving it, with some minor stage invasions. All in all I sum up that The Vouch are a must see! Josh Smithyman

Tree Postion Landscape Tips For Your Outdoor Living Environment

Landscape design has often been compared to painting a masterpiece. Your art teacher was sure to tell you that a good picture should have a point of main interest, and the rest of the points should simply go to make the central idea more beautiful, or to form a fine background setting for it. So in landscaping there must be in the gardener’s mind -  a complete picture of what they desire - the whole picture of what they want it to look like when the they complete the beautiful garden setting.

Should you include lots of bare open lawn in your landscaping theme? A large extent of open lusious green lawn space is always beautiful. It looks restful.

This type of open landscaping adds a feeling of space to even small grounds. If you cover your lawn space with many trees, with little flower beds here and there, the general effect is choppy and fussy. A bit like an over-dressed person. Not the most visual appealing result from your landscaping efforts.

When planning your landscape garden, a single tree or a small group is not a bad arrangement on the lawn. Do not center the tree or trees. Let them drop a bit into the background. Make a pleasing side feature of them. In choosing trees for your landscaping project, keep in mind a number of things. You should not choose an overpowering tree. The tree should have a good shape, with something interesting about its bark, leaves, flowers or fruit.

For the art of landscaping, the catalpa is quite lovely by itself. Its leaves are broad, its flowers attractive, the seed pods which cling to the tree until way into the winter, and they are very beautiful. The bright berries of the ash, the brilliant foliage of the sugar maple, the blossoms of the tulip tree, the bark of the white birch, and the leaves of the copper beech all these are beauty points to consider when planning your custom garden design.

Landscaping may follow along very formal lines or along informal lines. The first would have straight paths, straight rows in stiff beds, everything, as the name tells, perfectly formal. The other method is, of course, the exact opposite. You should consider the advantages and danger points in each.

In conclusion, plan for open lawn spaces in your overall landscape design renovation and keep a visually appealing tree to blend in the background. Think balance and you will come up with a beautiful landscaping design for your yard.

Will Sports Cars Disappear?

Sports cars are widely loved, but a quick survey of one’s morning commute will show they are not the most popular vehicle type on the road. Four door sedans, SUV’s, practical pickup trucks, and small economy cars dominate the automotive landscape. Sports cars seem to be an increasingly rare commodity. This is because other types of automobiles are increasingly able to take the best aspects of the sports car experience while avoiding some pitfalls inherent to the smaller speedsters.

For a long time, high performance was ruled by sports cars. Manufacturers used their sports car line to showcase new developments and design elements. Today, however, it appears many of these great qualities can be easily adapted to other car types.

The lighter construction of today’s cars, coupled with improvements in technology, has allowed family sedans to perform almost on par with sports cars. In fact, many of today’s “standard” offerings outperform the higher end sports cars of only a few years ago. Even SUV and trucks boast technology and performance that were unthinkable only a short while ago.

The automobile has evolved to a point where virtually any type of car can capture sports car technology. Regular production cars handle better than ever before and the only performance advantages to sports cars can only be realized under extreme driving conditions few will ever encounter. A sports car may hug a lynchpin turn at high speeds, for instance, better than the family sedan, but one must wonder how often any family will be trying to set speed records on mountain roads.

While today’s regular production models can steal some of the sports cars’ thunder, they can also offer some unique advantages over their smaller counterparts. Sports cars are notorious for their small size. Although this helps in handling and speed, it makes longer drives less comfortable while making every day use less practical. Larger cars have a utilitarian advantage that sports cars simply cannot match.

It was once sensible to trade some comfort for superior performance, but with modern standard autos now performing so well, the tradeoff seems less and less sensible. This seems apparent when one looks at the kind of cars people are buying: larger vehicles with greater seating capacity.

Additionally, the limited utility of sports cars makes them increasingly rare due to economic considerations. Few families today can afford to purchase and maintain a hobby car. By and large, people expect to use the vehicles they purchase on an every day basis. The old days of having a little convertible in the garage to use for occasional bursts of summer fun no longer seems like an economically feasible diversion for most people.

Originally, sports cars were designed specifically with rallies and contests in mind. Auto producers tested their design and mechanical skills against one another as they sought out ways to increase automobile performance. Later, sports cars became popular for mainstream drivers who were seeking greater performance from their vehicles. Lately, however, regular production cars have evolved and now come with the higher performance parts and construction once reserved for sports cars.

This may spell the eventual end for traditional sports cars, although producers are sure to maintain a small fleet of developmental performance cars with which to test new ideas. In the end, we may see a return to the sports cars of yesterday-cars designed specifically and almost exclusively to test new ideas, as opposed to popular cars for the larger public.

With each passing year, it seems, one notices fewer and fewer true sports cars on the road. This trend is not likely to be reversed any time soon, as more practical alternatives exist and the performance gap is shortened. Although the true sports car will probably never completely disappear, it is likely to become increasingly less visible to the public.

Garden Bubs After Care

Dutch Iris are one of the most colorful of all fall-planted bulbs. They have been propagated heavily in Oregon and Washington for the Pacific Coast market. The flower is excellent for cutting and a generous crop may be expected. The colors include white, yellow, lavender, blue and purple. The plants are fairly hardy although they require some protection if planted in a windy spot. Plant in the open sun or semi-shade with the bulbs. 3 inches deep and 3 inches apart. Average garden soil will suffice and the bulbs should not be disturbed until the plants become so thick that the clumps need dividing.

Aftercare of Bulbs - Many - including gladiolus, tigridias and tuberous begonias - should be taken up now and stored for a good rest. Remember, the foliage should be thoroughly ripened before cutting off. Dust the bulbs with an insecticide to take care of any insect eggs present. Also, all bulbs and tubers should be dried off thoroughly before storing in peat. Guard against mice eating tigridias especially.

For quick color - In the mild sections of the West, snapdragons, stocks, annual chrysanthemums, larkspur, Iceland poppies, violas and pansies may still be set out, although the blooms will be later than on those set out last month. For shady spots, try cinerarias and primroses.

Wildflowers - Sow seeds after the first heavy rains. For dependable ground covers on bulb beds, sow linaria, brachycome, Gilia lutea (G. micrantha), nemophila, Virginia stock, Johnny-jump-up and other shallow-rooted annuals. These make colorful beds by themselves and are a boon both to the busy gardener pressed for time and the “lazy” gardener.

Winter pot plants - For the shaded patio use primrows, cinerarias, pansies, daffodils, browallias, reinwardtias, alocasia amazonica, beloperones, ericas, eranthemums, azaleas and camellias.

Pyracanthus and cotoneasters are the answer for time-pressed gardening enthusiasts who require colorful berries with a minimum of time spent on upkeep. Berried shrubs thrive here in the West. Although they can be planted at any season, this is a good time to select choice kinds at local nurseries, for now you can not only choose the ones with the best forms but also the proper colored berries.

Wage loans , why? , Payday loan issues. Also Buy Holiday Money at Best Rates

I got a Payday loans a year ago as I had cleaned out of capital, it was certainly tricky for me. I am called is Peter I am fresh to Britain and no bank will take on my application as I didn’t hold a credit file here. So I asked for a pay day loan, it was assuredly quick and the merchant site was very basic to read. But I did not notice that the interest rate on the payday loan was exceedingly big - it was very not easy to pay back the payday loan and I landed in deficit for far longer compared with what I had anticipated. pay day loans are great though because the service usually does not think about your credit score. Payday loans have just recently been in common recognition as loans to offer quick money, genrally in the occurence of a difficulty. Normally it is only worth it to acquire payday loans if there are no back up possibilities such as credit card or other bank option, as the rates are extremely high and repayment generally is required to be made within 30 days. So you should only use in the possibility that there are no different channels and you really need the cash rapidly.

I heard an acquaintance who was in dire need of a few quid. Basically, they needed an emergency plumber - their water system was not working unexpectedly and it was some weeks before work paid. They have however a poor credit ranking due to tardiness of paying back a previous unsecured loan so to get a traditional bank loan was not possible. However there was no time to wait and it had to be repaired as soon as possible. I hear payday loans get a poor rep and perhaps rightly so; but desperate times call for difficult actions and they got a fast loan to pay for the fixture. You just need to ensure that the cash goes immediately out of your account to pay back at the next work pay day.

We don’t recommend taking large amounts of foreign currency in banknotes, but you will certainly require a bit of holiday money when you get there. It’s possible to uncover you the very best travel money exchange rates, to make certain you get the utmost travel currency for your pounds. Travellers’ cheques can be a further riskless method to hold a more significant amount of cash. If these lost or stolen, you can get fresh checks. In certain destinationa, and in some currencies for example US dollars, a travel check may be accepted for payment. Forex currency trading (AKA FX trading) is possibly one of the seriously money making types of market trading available. The FX market was previously purely available to lending companies and UK gov’t banks, however is now there for all consumers. If you’re currently a market worker or are curious in markets, then you want to make sure you don’t to lose the amazing opportunity the Forex trading market allows. Greater than $2 trillion dollars in foreign money are being traded every day with Forex currency trading! Just be sure you will be prudent to avoid the dangers of Foreign Exchange trading.

Warm Up For Zumba Classes

Hello my fellow Zumba fitness instructors!! I have been asked several times about proper warm-ups and cool downs. By textbook, a WARM UP is to prepare the body for vigorous exercise and may reduce the risk of injury. When I do an instructor training class for group exercise or Zumba fitness master class I always tell my students to think about what they are going to be doing in class and to use the warm up to get the body ready for those types of moves. For example, in Zumba (Latin type classes) you want to warm your class up with directional movements, arm movements, hip movements and feet movement to name a few. When planning your warm up you want to keep this in mind. LASTLY, your warm up should be very carefree…I usually don’t choreograph this portion of my Zumba class.

I just MOVE, focus on what I mentioned above and use this time to GET IN TUNE WITH MY ZUMBA CLASS. I usually talk and “have fun”, make eye contact and smile at each person and I also watch my class and see how they are moving with these basic moves in the warm-up it usually tells me a lot. I can then adjust my Zumba class accordingly. If there is a new move in one of your Zumba routines, the warm up is a great place to “show it” so then when that routine comes up they have already been introduced and they will feel more accomplished when they do that new Zumba workout! OKAY…NOW THE OTHER END..THE COOL DOWN..by text book the purpose of the cool down is to provide a transitional period between the “work” segment and the stretch/muscular strengthening segments of your class.

Without a gradual cool down period, the blood can pool in the extremities immediately and cause fainting. Moderate to slow rhythmic movements for the upper and lower body will enable the muscles of the extremities to pump the blood back to the heart and brain. You want to use this time to bring the heart rate back down (100 beats or less). U really want to use the easy foot movement (side to side)…a slow salsa.. to bring the heart rate down…use movements that stretch the areas of the body that you worked in the “work” segment of your class…eventually stopping and stretching for the full range of motion.. this is where I put on some sexy salsa slow music in my Zumba workout or for other classes slow funky music and stretch and talk to the class…see how they liked it and “bond” with them…this is an opportunity to build relationships with your Zumba classes…they are your number one marketing tool! You take care of them then they will take care of you. The power of word of mouth is amazing! To see proper warm ups being used in a Zumba video check out www.darsfitness.com

Also if you are looking to advertise, use key people in your classes…get email addresses…people in your classes have businesses that they can put flyer up or maybe you can get an email list from them or give the flyer to them that they can forward!!!
Next time I will be talking about liability issues, fun stuff huh!!! lol…
